Reading
Instructed by: Little Green Feet Limited & Greenfield Education Centre

There are mountains of evidence about the advantages of reading. However, free voluntary reading, which has been proven as the most effective way in language acquisition, and reading storybooks aloud with parents/teachers are not strategies that are often employ. Besides, primary students are often loaded with too much homework, which leaves them little time for pleasurable reading.
Our partner in reading, Greenfield Educational Centre was founded in 1992, aiming to help children build good foundations of Chinese and English languages, as well as the ability to think creatively and independently. Our other partner in Reading, Little Green Feet encourage children to think about the relationship between people and land/nature, and be responsible citizens. Each month, they select one place of interest - be it a farm, mudflat, wood, field or a little brook, and invite other families to join their journey into nature. Together they read picture books, and adults and children take turns to "play" with stories.
